In 1869 Alfred Ely Beach created a demonstration of the underground transit system and later opened it in February 1870. The transit operated from Warren to Murray Street, exhibiting the idea of a railway as a subway. This train shows the chaotic energy of the NYC subway system. The train is shown barreling through a station, with people and advertising signs blurrily rushing past. The colours are bright and busy, conveying the busyness of the city. Poster inspired by Spiderman Comics and New York subway
